Cook Islands

Cook Islands Ministry of Health in partnership with the Te Tiare Association provided support to 103 MSM and 225 TG People in the country, including in the outer islands. This was a significant increase since 2019, highlighting the importance of the government working with CSOs to improve overall reach, especially to key populations.

Tonga

Tonga Team through the Treatment Core Team have continued to well manage the PLHIV under the Treatment Care & Support Program and by the end of 2022 PLHIV patients were virally suppressed.

TLA used the opportunity on International Human Rights day and conducted an Intersectionality Training for National Stakeholders. As a result, National Stakeholders in Tonga are aware of using the Intersectionality Framework and Tools in implementing their projects and to make sure there is no discrimination among work places and policies. Secondly, all social hubs and dwelling areas of the key populations are now able to access 100% of HIV prevention packages.

Palau

Palau reported increased in partnership and stronger coordination and collaboration with Civil Action Team, Ministry of Justice, KP network and Public Sector which resulted in 100% of MSM getting access to prevention and testing services and improved reach with the TG population. 

RMI

RMI MHHS replicated the Mass Screening conducted in Majuro with the support of UNDP, WHO and CDC. This replication was done for the outer atolls of Jaluit, reaching 1112 individuals screened for TB, of which six were diagnosed with active TB, and 213 were diagnosed with LTBI and put on treatment. While on Wotje Atoll, a total of 699 individuals were screened, of which 20 individuals were diagnosed with active TB and 165 with LTBI and put on treatment.

Vanuatu

VFHA reported great improvement of 67% of female sex workers who were reached by the HIV prevention program, reported that a condom was used with their last client. This is a big improvement compared to results in the previous years. The project team will continue to invest in “one-on-one” counselling and the distribution of IEC materials that promote condom use among SWs.
