resources-header-1024x492PIRMCCM grant ratings have been released for the period of 1 July to 31 December 2015, with the Global Fund issuing an A1 rating for the MWP Malaria grant and B1 rating for the MWP TB/HIV grant.

The A1 rating indicates that the MWP Malaria grant exceeded expectations and achieved results beyond the target outcomes for this period. Siula Bulu, Chair of PIRMCCM, praised the efforts of those involved.

“Strong country leadership with high quality of support from UNDP the PR (Principle Recipient) made this possible,” she said. “It is especially pleasing to note that everyone, both in countries and at the regional level, rose above challenges and performed exceptionally well.”

The B1 rating for the MWP TB/HIV grant comprised of 14 individual indicators, 6 of which rated at A1 and another 6 rated at A2, and highlighted some areas of improvement for the future. Indicators that managed to exceed performance targets include ‘Percentage of antenatal care attendees who know their HIV status’ and ‘Percentage of TB cases, all forms, successfully treated’.

“I am very proud of this achievement by our MWP Malaria and TB/HIV grants,” said Siula Bulu. “Let us, while celebrating this achievement, continue to work even harder. Let us aim to improve our rating even further by the end of this funding period.”
